A common problem when K-swapping is whether or not to retain power steering. If you do decide to remove it, you then need to find a suitable solution for removing the pump and pulley. Leaving it in place can cause clearance issues with your bonnet. To solve this Hybrid Racing have come up with this idler bracket and pulley kit.

Available in two types, depending on the application engine you’re fitting it to, this kit is a complete solution that improves clearance and allows you to neatly delete your existing power steering hardware, requiring no further modification.

HYB-IDB-01-02

Suitable for the vast majority of K-series’ found in the US, Europe and Japan, including the K20A/A2/A3, K20Z1/Z3/Z4 and K24A1/A2/A4 and A8. Simply measure your crank pulley to determine belt size and you have a bolt-on solution. Once fitted, you can expect to gain about 1.5″ of extra bonnet clearance.

HYB-IDB-01-04

Specifically designed for the JDM K24A, this kit contains everything the 02 kit does, but with the addition of a bespoke bracket that allows it to fit this specific engine. This kit is shorter by about 1.81″ compared to the factory K24A power steering pump.

Whilst these kits don’t contain a belt, Hybrid Racing offer these additionally or any suitably sized belt can be used. To determine which size you need, please follow these steps;

1. Determine what engine you are using. (K20 or K24)
2. Determine if you are using AC or not.
3. Measure the outside diameter of the crank pulley.
4. Refer to the below belt sizing chart to pick the correct size based on which kit you have and the diameter of the crank pulley.

These belts are sized specifically for the Hybrid Racing Idler Bracket & Pulley Kit. Hybrid Racing offer four sizes that fit nearly all K-Series engines without A/C.
