Forge Motorsport presents the Turbo Inlet Adaptor and Intake Tract for the Hyundai i20N, a plug-and-play kit featuring a cast turbo inlet adaptor, CNC machined hose couplers, and a high-flow silicone inlet hose.
Enhanced Inlet Elbow
With a 170% increase in size, the inlet elbow maximizes airflow to the turbo. The OEM cast elbow’s small size limits airflow, especially as tuners raise boost and performance. Additionally, the plastic OEM hose has internal ribs and steps that cause turbulence, slowing airflow. Forge’s larger, smooth silicone hose removes these restrictions, promoting better airflow.
Why Silicone?
Silicone was chosen over alloy for its lower heat conductivity, preventing heat soak that affected initial gains during testing with an alloy pipe. Even after six dyno pulls, the silicone hose maintained steady temperatures without losing power.
Turbo Inlet Adaptor Benefits
The turbo inlet adaptor is designed similarly to a velocity stack, directly channeling more air to the turbo, which helps maintain airflow during acceleration after deceleration or between gear changes. This consistent air supply boosts performance response.
Dyno Results
Testing at Performance Remap showed gains of nearly 7 BHP and 12 NM torque with the OEM airbox and standard filter.
For even greater performance, the turbo inlet can be paired with the FMINDK45 induction kit, resulting in 12 BHP and 20 NM torque increases at peak. With additional tuning, performance can exceed these figures.
