We have designed these S65 VANOS covers in conjunction with MR VANOS to be a true replacement for the original part.
The issue?
The BMW S65 engine can experience issues with the original plastic VANOS covers when the covers start cracking, breaking or becoming loose or when the covers completely fall off. There is a risk of catastrophic internal engine damage if the above occurs. The broken plastic pieces can enter the oil system, potentially clogging the oil pickup and causing oil starvation. The issue with the plastic covers is based on the material used rather than the design itself.
The BMW Fix?
To replace the complete VANOS units which can become very expensive. BMW do not provide the plastic covers by themselves.
Our solution?
Evolve has developed their own replacement VANOS covers in conjunction with Mr Vanos which are a true replacement for the original part. Unlike other products on the market they do not leave the springs exposed. These covers are made of T6082 aluminum, eliminating the risk of future cover failure which could ultimately lead to engine failure. Installation is straightforward and no special tools are required.
